HOME TO THE SERRANOS
Welcome to Yucaipa, California.
Set in the foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains, the city of Yucaipa is located around 10 miles east of San Bernardino and home to approximately 52,500 people. The city, which was founded in 1989, is one of California's newest cities. Still, it is home to one of San Bernardino County's oldest structures, the Yucaipa Adobe. The adobe, which is today a historic landmark, was built in 1842 on the site where the native Serrano Indians used to live for a long time, and today offers tours to visitors Tuesday through Saturday every week. Yucaipa is situated around an hour drive from Southern California's premier mountain resort lake and winter snow ski vacations at Big Bear Lake and Lake Arrowhead. Those who love the outdoors will fall in love with this hidden gem, as it not only is close to two of the most popular resort destinations in state, but in itself features 14 city parks, an equestrian arena for the horse-lovers, a public pool, a state park and a 200-acre regional park with a total of 3 lakes for swimming, boating and fishing. There are also campgrounds and playgrounds to provide rich outdoor environments for visitors and residents alike. Parks include the Yucaipa Regional Park and the Wildwood Canyon State Park.
