WOODBRIDGE
THE LAKE COMMUNITY
Welcome to Woodbridge, Irvine.
Woodbridge is a suburban neighborhood in the city of Irvine, California. The neighborhood comprises a major housing development, which began in 1975 and today encompasses around four square miles and features two artificial lakes. Woodbridge is situated in the heart of Irvine, and is home to five elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school. The construction of most buildings in Woodbridge was completed in the mid 1990s, which reflects the overall appearance of the neighborhood. In 2013, however, new development began for the first time in 15 years and added 48 modern homes called The Branches. Woodbridge is divided into two residential communities, North Lake and South Lake. A wide strip featuring a plethora of stores, restaurants, business developments and schools divides the two areas, and each half of the neighborhood has its own lake in the middle. The shallow lakes are a visual treat, each crossed by a quaint wooden footbridge, which is related to the neighborhood's name. A circular loop road called the Yale Loop encloses Woodbridge and connects all the residential blocks and major streets. The New England Cape Cod Style village of Woodbridge is like its own little world, with rows of pine trees closing the neighborhood off from the rest of Irvine. Residents of Woodbridge have access to a first-class lifestyle thanks to the two lakes, including boat docks, relaxing beach lagoons and spas, a total of 22 pools, 13 waders, a splash pad for the kids. Tennis enthusiasts can choose between an impressive 24 tennis courts, and there are also a multitude of parks, volleyball courts and even horseshoe facilities in the neighborhood! All together, the homeowner's association owns and operates a boastful 41 recreational facilities. If you live in Woodbridge, you not only have access to state-of-the art amenities, but excellent shopping and dining at the strip and nearby Irvine Spectrum, as well as terrific schools and activities like kayaking, canoeing, sailing and biking!
