WOBURN
Massachusetts, U.S.A.
A SMALL BOSTON SUBURB
Welcome to Woburb, Massachusetts.
The city of Woburn is located in Middlesex County and is home to around 38,000 people. Woburn is a suburb to Boston, conveniently situated only 9 miles away from the big city hustle and bustle. The first settlement in Woburn was established in 1640, near the Horn Pond, and was officially incorporated in 1642. Back then the area also included what is today the separate towns Winchester, Burlington and parts of Stoneham and Wilmington. Woburn was named after Woburn in Bedfordshire. Woburn offers plenty of service amenities and local businesses, including retail stores and restaurants. Most people go outside of the city for major shopping though, as there aren't really any large malls in the Woburn. Favorite dining places among locals include The Restaurant, a casual American cafeteria, and Polcari's, a homely Italian dining spot with large plates of food. The main outdoor recreational area in Woburn is the Horn Pond, a picturesque site for activities like hiking and biking. Another smaller spot is the woodsy Little Brook Conservation Area. A little further out by the Northern Expy, you'll find the Middlesex Fells Reservation with an extensive trail as well as a large pond that lends itself to fishing and other fun water activities.
