A TITLE TOWN
Welcome to Valdosta, Georgia.
Valdosta is the county seat of Lowndes County and home to around 55,000 people, making it the largest city in Georgia. The city is known for the Valdosta State University, a regional university with over 13,000 students, as well as being named a TitleTown in football USA by ESPN. Valdosta is called the Azalea City, because of the plant that grows in abundance here. Ever year in March, the city celebrates its flora with the Azalea Festival. The City of Valdosta offers authentic Southern charm and hospitality, and is a place where people will strike up a conversation at the grocery store or at the caf. Downtown Valdosta features plenty of local shops, restaurants and cafes in a beautiful historical setting. Heavier shopping can be taken care of at the Valdosta Mall and Summit Pointe. If you're here with family, definitely visit the Wild Adventures, where kids can have fun with lots of animals, a waterpark and several cool rides. For dining, there is plenty to devour in the pretty surroundings of Valdosta. Check out the King's Grill and Covington's, where you will experience a warm and welcoming atmosphere and delicious hometown food. Lastly, don't miss the many historical homes listed in the Historic Register as well as the Remerton Historic Mill Village. The Crescent House and Gardens are widely renowned and famous for their scenic offerings.
