Welcome to Union Street, San Francisco.
This commercial district is located in northern San Francisco between the Marina and Pacific neighborhoods. Often called The Union, this place is where you want to go for shopping, dining and clubbing! Once upon a time, the area was an unpaved path making its way through the city, which back then consisted of mainly dairy cows. The elegance of the post-Gold Rush era is displayed with Victorian architecture in this Cow Hollow enclave, and today it houses a plethora of restaurants and stores of all kinds. Dinner and drinks can be enjoyed at the tropical-themed Palm House, a new addition to the Union and located in an old farmhouse. With its quaint location and palm trees out front, its hard to miss and definitely difficult to resist. Brand name connoisseurs should head to the store Simply Chic, a store that features vintage designer items ranging from Chanel to Gucci and Louis Vuitton. Thanks to the items' pristine condition, customers often walk in baffled that it is in fact a consignment store. Aside from excellent shopping and too many restaurants and clubs to name, Union Street hosts a vast number of festivals and parades throughout the year. The Annual Union Street Festival is probably the largest, and people from all over the city comes down to take part in the festivities. To summarize Union Street in one sentence: this is where you come for entertainment of any kind!
