California, U.S.A.
Welcome to Tiburon, California.
Located only a skip away from San Francisco, this small town is home to around 9,000 people and lies on the south-west part of the peninsula. With gorgeous views of the foggy metro of San Francisco, ocean-side location and vibrant community, this place is a terrific place to visit or for the lucky ones, call home. The name Tiburon means shark in Spanish, and was probably inspired by the native leopard sharks in waters surrounding the peninsula. Formerly a terminus for the Northwestern Pacific Railroad, Tiburon today is a lively commuter and tourist town, easily accessible by ferry services to San Francisco. The town boasts a colorful restaurant scene, and if you take a stroll down Main Street you can satisfy your inner foodie with authentic Italian cuisine, local wines or fresh seafood. Down here you'll also find a plethora of stores, and clothes junkies can find more than enough to still their cravings. If you're into nature and hiking, this place has got you covered regardless of your fitness level. Take the trail to The Old St. Hilary's Open Space Preserve for a 360-degree panoramic view of the bay, or the Tiburon Ridge Trail that is easy on the feet but heavy on the scenery. Take a ferry to Angel Island, or why not rent a yacht? Tiburon is home to no less than three renowned yacht clubs: the Corinthian Yacht Club, San Francisco Yacht Club, and Tiburon Yacht Club.
