Welcome to Temecula, California.
Temecula is a city in southwestern Riverside County bordered by the City of Murrieta, the Pechanga Indian Reservation and San Diego County. The city is home to around 106,700 residents and was incorporated in 1989. Temecula is a popular tourist destination with numerous attractions, such as the Temecula Valley Wine Country, the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival and several spectacular championship golf courses. Aside from award-winning wineries set in 3,000 acres of pastoral wine country, the community's offers a wide variety of entertaining activities. One of the favorite spots in Temecula is the Old Town district, which features a quaint blend of historic buildings and more than 640 antique dealers, one-of-a-kind shopping and memorable restaurants. Old Town is also home to numerous annual and semi-annual events, such as Rod Runs, Western Days and summer weekend festivities. Visitors can enjoy a ride in a horse-drawn carriage and enjoy the picturesque surroundings, or go for a quiet walk on the old wooden boardwalks. Take a tour of the Temecula Valley Museum to peruse the city's historical treasures, or shop for fresh vegetables at the weekend Farmer's Market. Bring the kids to the eclectic inventor Professor Phineas Pennypickle's workshop or the Imagination Workshop Children's Museum they are sure to have fun either way. And thespians, don't forget to stop by the Old Town Temecula Community Theatre. For more shopping than you can handle, head to The Promenade Mall, a modern center with a myriad of stores and dining places for any budget. When you're in the mood for outdoor recreation, enjoy the mild climate with a hike on the Santa Rosa Plateau Wildlife Preserve, head out for a hot-air balloon ride, or relax in a boat at Lake Skinner. And with the Temecula Valley's more than 153 holes dispersed across eight golf courses, even the most avid golfer will find him self challenged!
