SAN BRUNO
California, U.S.A.
HOME OF FALLEN VETERANS
Welcome to San Bruno, California.
This city in the San Mateo County is home to around 41,000 people, and overlooks the beautiful expanse of the San Francisco Bay. San Bruno has a number of parks, with the largest one being the San Bruno City Park. This park offers shaded walkways and hiking trails, as well as a playground, a ballpark, a swimming pool and a picnic area. The indoor recreation center also features a basketball court, which was previously used for training the San Francisco Warriors. The Junipero Serra County Park is a 100-acre park where residents have access to a plethora of hiking trails, picnic shelters, BBQ pits and more. A beautiful landmark exists as well, in the form of the Golden Gate National Cemetery, a memorial spot in honor of fallen US veterans. The cemetery was established in 1942 and is now the final resting place of 143,000 souls, including commanders from WWII. The main drag of downtown San Bruno is San Mateo Avenue, where you'll find quaint shops and restaurants. The buildings are mainly historical with architecture reminiscent of the early 20th century. For shopping, visit The Shops at Tanforan, located on El Camino Real. In this mall you'll find a Century Theatres movie complex, a Noble bookstore, Sears, JC Penney and Target. While you're in the area, check out the San Bruno Towne Center nearby for more restaurants, retail stores and smaller shops!
