Georgia, U.S.A.
Welcome to Rome, Georgia.
The City of Rome is conveniently located 65 miles northwest of Atlanta, and home to around 96,000 people. Nestled in the rolling foothills of the stunning Appalachian Mountains and the shore of the Coosa River, Rome offers a gentle but spectacular landscape with a fairly humid climate. All its glory is located within close vicinity to the fantastic opportunities of Atlanta, making it a perfect getaway for those who want to live close to a big city but without the hassle. Rome is a classical mid-sized southern city with roots in agriculture, textile and carpet milling. The city has quite a few buildings listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and Rome even won an award for preserving and restoring its historical downtown core. Aside from some smaller league sports and a few commercial entities, most entertainment and recreation can be found outside the city. Hiking, boat rentals, mountain biking are popular activities that can be enjoyed around Rome's hilly and watery edges. History buffs have access quite a bit of cultural leisure though, in the form of several museums: the Martha Berry Museum, Rome Area History Museum, Clock Tower, Rome Braves and Chieftains Museum.
