Welcome to Porter Ranch, Los Angeles.
Porter Ranch is situated in the San Fernando Valley; bounded by Chatsworth, Northridge and Granada Hills. This affluent neighborhood is home to around 25,000 people, and is one of the least densely populated areas in the city of Los Angeles. Located at the hilly northwestern tip of the San Fernando Valley, Porter Ranch comprises a calm outpost of Los Angeles where residents come to seek sanctuary from the urban hustle and bustle. Porter Ranch offers a breath of fresh air more than figuratively, as it has some of the cleanest air in the Valley year round. There isn't much commercial activity in Porter Ranch, but there are some necessary amenities nonetheless. Castlebay Lane Charter School and Porter Ranch Community School are the two only schools in the area, both part of public district no private institutions currently exist in Porter Ranch. In terms of green space, residents have lots to choose from. With access to the lush Palisades Park and the Aliso Canyon, Rinaldi, Viking, Porter Ridge, Limeklin Canyone Parks and more, denizens of Porter Ranch are nearly overwhelmed with outdoor recreational options. The Porter Ridge Park is known to locals as the E.T. Park, as this is where parts of the movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, was filmed.
