PERRIS HILLS
THE GREAT PARK
Welcome to Perris Hills, San Bernardino.
The Perris Hills neighborhood is situated close to the heart of San Bernardino & lies adjacent to the Perris Hill Park and Mt. View Cemetery. The neighborhood itself is residential, and the biggest attraction is the green expanse of the Perris Hill Park. The Perris Hill Park is the San Bernardino's best-equipped park and has a long and rich history to its establishment. This local gem was built in 1934, when it was named after Frederick Thomas Perris, a railroad developer who helped shape early San Bernardino. Among a number of amenities, the park contains baseball field which was renamed Fiscalini Field after the late John Fiscalini, a local baseball hero. Within a few years of its establishment, the Perris Hill Park was a popular attraction both for residents and visitors, featuring magnificent views of the valley and mountains. This beautiful green jewel is a favorite among families, as it features things like a swimming pool, 2 playground areas, a barbecue grill and a total of 56 picnic tables. In addition, the park features 16 horseshoe pits, a senior center and 7 tennis courts. One of the most impressive features of Perris Hill Park is the Roosevelt Bowl, which is a large outdoor amphitheater with a capacity of 4,000 people. Since its unveiling 80 years ago, the Roosevelt Bowl has been a popular venue for various plays, concerts, musicals and community gatherings. While the venue needs some upgrades, the city is working diligently to ensure that the amphitheater is revitalized for the 21st century and continues to be a place where the community can share history, arts, culture and entertainment.
