PEACHTREE CITY
Georgia, U.S.A.
THE FIVE VILLAGES
Welcome to Peachtree City, Georgia.
The city of around 35,000 people is the largest one in Fayette County and located in South Metro Atlanta. The city was created as a planned community in the 1950s when a group of real estate investors bought the land. Peachtree City was designed as a collection of villages with their own shopping districts, schools, parks and amenities. Currently, these villages exist under the names of Aberdeen, Braellin, Glenoch, Kedron and Wilksmoor. Peachtree City is a green city that offers plenty of opportunity for outdoor activities like golfing, hiking and bicycling. The villages feature over 90 miles of trails, lakes, golf courses, and even a 2500-seat amphitheater. And not to forget, first-class shopping and dining! Should you find yourself in this lovely city, check out the Dixie Wing Museum. The educational museum features a complete collection of mainly American aircrafts flowed by the U.S. Military in the WWII a perfect destination for a father and son day out. If you crave a little bit of fresh air, visit the Flat Creek Nature area, a 513-acre wetland where you can enjoy a long boardwalk and viewing platforms. The preserve of Line Creek Nature Area is another popular area, which features a forest, granite outcroppings and a vivacious stream where you're allowed to fish. Or, you can head to the 4 acre Drake Field recreation area where you can fish, have a picnic or just take your dog for a walk. When your stomach starts to growl, bring yourself and your date to the Azul Tequila Lounge for authentic Mexican flavors and mouth-numbing cocktails. The place was born out of three Mexican men's dream to open a restaurant where people can enjoy true Mexican food within the realms of their own hometown. In terms of shopping, you can expect to be more than delighted. In this city of villages you will find several retail centers and a plethora of stores, ranging from national chains to eclectic little boutiques. Rest assured, Peachtree City will leave out none of your desires!
