Situated amidst green, rolling hills along the coast of the Pacific Ocean, Pacifica lies right between the San Francisco and Half Moon Bay.
The city is made up from several small valleys an covers a 6 mile stretch of beaches, so it's no wonder that Pacifica is a popular surfing destination.
Surfers and their loved ones often come to visit Linda Mar Beach or Rockaway Beach, both great surf locations; with the latter offering recreation, shopping and dining.
But hitting the waves is not the only way to get on a board in Pacifica. In 2005, the highly ranked Pacifica Skateboard Park opened its doors, and now attracts a ton of skaters and curious onlookers, Monday through Saturday every week.
Mountain biking is another common hobby in the area, as Pacifica boasts a huge number of trails crossing the hillsides around the city. Some of these include the Pedro Mountain Road, Sweeney Ridge, and parts of the Golden Gate National Recreation area. If you like to fish, join the local fishermen down in the Pacifica Pier, where you might be able to catch some Striped Bass and Salmon for dinner.
Golfers, make sure to visit the Sharp Park Golf Course, designed by renowned architect Alister MacKenzie in 1931. And for those who fancy a stroll around the beaches and bluffs, hiking trails include Mori Point, San Pedro Valley County Park, Sanchez Adobe and Milagra Ridge.
When you're done with all your outdoor activities, check out some local performances at the Pacifica Spindrift Players or the Pacifica Performances, where you can enjoy both theatre and musical acts!
