California, U.S.A.
Welcome to Oceanside, California.
Oceanside is beach town located on the sunny coastline of Southern California. With around 167,000 residents, it is the third-largest city in San Diego County. Oceanside is a classic California beach town with 6 miles of white beaches and pretty historic features like its wooden pier and Cape Cod-style harbor village. This is a city of water sports and a casual life style, a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of cities like San Diego. Close to San Diego with its many attractions like Sea World and San Diego Zoo, Oceanside is also conveniently located near many other Southern California tourist spots, including Legoland and Disneyland. Thanks to year round sunny weather, Oceanside is the perfect spot to experience what Southern California is all about. The many long beaches are the main draw for tourists, and each Oceanside Beach has its own distinct charm. The gorgeous Harbor Beach is the largest, and offers everything from surfing in the generous waves to volleyball games in the sand. Adjacent to the beach is the Oceanside Harbor with its many amenities, including a plethora of quaint little shops and a great hotel for visitors. Go whale watching, kayaking, or deep-sea fishing for the day the options are endless! A definite must-visit is the historical Oceanside Pier, one of the longest wooden piers on the West Coast. Stroll far into the ocean on the old wooden planks, and gaze at the lively waters where surfers try their luck on the rampant waves. Once in a while, you may even spot a dolphin or another magnificent sea creature dwelling in the turquoise waters. And when you get hungry, make sure to try the food at the famous Ruby's Diner at the end of the pier. At sundown, complete the evening in musical bliss at the Amphitheater by the entrance of the Pier, where numerous performances are held. Also worth a visit is the quaint little collection of buildings in Stratford at the Harbor, reminiscent of an old fishing village. With its wood-framed buildings and steep shingle roofs, this lovely waterfront setting will surely take you back in time.
