A PHOENIX SUBURB
Welcome to Mesa, Arizona.
The city of Mesa is a suburb located around 20 miles east of Phoenix, and with around 439,040 residents, it's the third-largest city in Arizona. This city in the high desert features numerous attractions worth visiting. Check out the Landmark Restaurant, a local favorite that began as a Mormon Church in 1908. After being a church, the locale became an insurance company and later Mesa Community College's first campus, before finally turning into a restaurant believe it or not. The restaurant today shows an abundance of old photos from its various eras, which makes visitors feel like they are in a museum. Obviously, the food is also great; regulars recommend the crab cakes and beef stroganoff. When you're done eating, why not pluck your own oranges at the Orange Patch? This place was founded in the 1960s, and offers acres of every existing citrus fruit all yours for collecting! If you're not up for a day on the field, you can just choose from the country store's local assortment. When you're itching for outdoor-recreation, head to the Wind Cave Trail at Usery Mountain Regional Park. The trail is a popular 1.6-mile hike ideal for gentle exercise, picnics and scenic views. Finally, a must-visit is the Commemorative Air Force Aviation Museum; featuring aircrafts from World War II and other military memorabilia. Among its treasures is the B-17 Chowhound a flying beauty that alone is worth a trip to Mesa!
