LUCKIE MARIETTA
TIMES SQUARE SOUTH
Welcome to Luckie Marietta, Atlanta.
This neighborhood is part of Downtown Atlanta and was named after the Luckie and Marietta Streets, which surround the Centennial Olympic Park. Initially, the area was mainly an industrial warehouse district, which declined steadily after the mid 20th century. In 2007 however, the developers Legacy Properties took on the bold and costly project to finally revitalize the area. Legacy's plan was to build hotels, entertainment venues, restaurants and residential complexes, all within walking distance to large attractions like the Georgia Dome, Philips Arena, Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca Cola. Today, the Lucky Marietta district is widely considered as the place to be, and it has been named one of the top dining destinations in Atlanta. The neighborhood is walkable, safe and vibrant, and features a plethora of entertainment options and all thinkable amenities. In addition to numerous restaurants and shops, large stadiums and prominent tourist attractions, Lucky Marietta has continued to grow with additions like The College Football Hall of Fame. The district is a true tourist destination attracting more than 14 million guests annually, and it will surely be even more attractive with future developments. In fact, the innovative creators of Legacy Properties are currently working on the construction of Times Square South, at the corner of Baker and Marietta Streets. The new addition will bare similar characteristics to New York's City's Times Square, and will offer the best in lifestyle and entertainment. The developers believe that Times Square South will result in a new epicenter of enterprise creation and innovation in the region, drawing even more attention to the already vibrant and burgeoning neighborhood.
