California, U.S.A.
Welcome to Laguna Hills, California.
Laguna Hills is an affluent suburban city in southern Orange County. The name Laguna Hills refers to the city's proximity to Laguna Canyon and the much older Laguna Beach, and other newer cities nearby Laguna Niguel and Laguna Woods are similarly named. Built on one of the major land grants developed during the rancho era, Laguna Hills was originally part of the Moulton Ranch. When the ranch was subdivided, in the early 1960s, one part of the division was today's Laguna Hills. However, the city wasn't officially incorporated until in 1991. Young students in Laguna Hills are served by the Saddleback Valley Unified School District, and have the option of attending a variety of high performing elementary schools, including the Lomarena Elementary School and Valencia Elementary School. Middle schools are situated in nearby Mission Viejo, but the city has its own high school, he Laguna Hills High School. Albeit a small school with just 1,700 students, LHHS has been named a California Blue Ribbon school on numerous occasions. There are plenty of opportunities to explore culture in Laguna Hills. If you're in the area looking for something to do, check out the Butterfly Sculpture, the Civic Center Public Art, and the Fossil Exhibit. There are also excellent art classes and programs in Laguna Hills, including the arts program at Laguna Hills Community Center. For a peak into the past of Laguna Hills, visit the center's rotating photo gallery, which depicts various events and landmarks of the city.
