Welcome to Knight Park-Howell Station, also called Howell Station Historic District or Knight Park Historic District. Knight Park is an old neighborhood situated in West Midtown Atlanta, listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The neighborhood comprises many restored residences, with much of the construction being from before the Civil War. Architectural styles include Shotgun, Georgian, Craftsman Bungalow, Queen Anne and Hall-Parlor. While much of Knight Park is heavily industrial, there has been some new residential construction in the later years. There aren’t many stores around here as the area is quite isolated, but residents have access to Downtown and Midtown West, where an abundance of commercial activity can be found. And within five minutes, residents can find themselves at nearby restaurants like Figo Pasta, 6 feet Under, and Taqueria Del Sol, as well as a few local bars. Historically, West Marietta Street was filled with a row of commercial buildings, but unfortunately not much of this remains today. The Knight Park neighborhood will likely be on the rise soon however, and realtors predict a steady rise in property value. Contributing factors are the massive developments around the Howell station, including the adjacent city park as well as the proposed belt line.
