Missouri, U.S.A.
Welcome to the home of over 200 fountains. Though this may seem excessive, Kansas City fountains were actually built out of necessity and practicality.
In the 1800s, The Human Society built the first fountain as a water trough for horses. Today, these fountains are held close to the city as works of art, and the city's most cherished fountain, The Spirit of Freedom Fountain, is a sign and tribute to the contribution of African-American citizens to the history of Kansas City. Kansas City has a huge Jazz scene that has been part of the community from its early history. You'll see this rich history in the Historic Jazz District by taking a tour of The American Jazz Museum. You'll find legacies, such as the legendary Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington. And, you will get to see the hard-to-miss 17-foot bronze sculpture of Charlie Parker. Kansas City rounds out its charm with famous and legendary Kansas City barbecue! There are over 100 BBQ restaurants in the city alone. Each restaurant has its own specialty, and each is known to be the best in what they do. And, almost all the restaurants are part of the Kansas City Barbecue Society now that's BBQ! For its rich history, love of Jazz music, and down-home award-winning barbecue, Kansas City is one in a billion.
