Welcome to Inner Richmond, San Francisco.
This San Francisco gem is known across the city for its fabulous restaurants and many comforts and practicalities. Also called New Chinatown thanks to its many Chinese groceries and food places, Inner Richmond is a bustling, cultural hotspot with adorable stucco houses, grandiose mansions and an overabundance of affordable eateries. You'll be able to grab lunch or dinner with Burmese, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean flavor, or venture off to other fabulous cultures like the French. Browse some of San Francisco's best bookstores, while sipping on some Hong-Kong pearl tea, in this hideaway community once built on desolate sand dunes. It is no longer the Great Sand Waste as early S.F residents described it, and today it is a lovely place to call home or visit. Inner Richmond also has features like the Mountain Lake Park where you can feed the many ducks who live here, or go for a jog while overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. Another park, The Presidio, is now a national one and the longest lasting continuously used military post in the United States. You'll find plenty of history here, with military buildings dating from 1848 in Spanish Colonial to Georgian style. Once you're done exploring the past, discover secret tracks through the cypress and eucalyptus trees on Bay Area Ridge Trail. Finish your day at The Bitter End, which despite its name is a cozy local spot with an assortment of Irish Whisky, single-malt scotches and plenty of beer!
