HERMOSA BEACH
California, U.S.A.
AN AFFLUENT BEACH CITY
Welcome to Hermosa Beach, California.
Hermosa Beach is a wealthy beachfront city in Los Angeles County located in the South Bay region. The city is one of the three Beach Cities along with bordering Manhattan Beach (north) and Redondo Beach (south and east). Hermosa is a Spanish word meaning beautiful. Situated right by the Pacific Ocean, this affluent city is known as a place to sunbathe, play beach volleyball, surf and paddleboard. With an average temperature of 70 degrees in the summer and 55 degrees in the winter, there is always an opportunity for outdoor recreation in Hermosa Beach. Thanks to the westerly sea breezes, the high summertime temperatures of Los Angeles and elsewhere are lessened and Hermosa Beach maintains a clear and smog free sky 360 days a year. Hermosa Beach was named an outstanding coastal town by Los Angeles Magazine, which praised the many local businesses and shops. Stroll down The Strand along Hermosa's Beach to the Hermosa Beach pier, where you'll find the beach community's main shopping, eating and partying areas. Down here, you'll find everything from surf and turf to exotic cuisines and live entertainment featuring everything from comedy to jazz. Hermosa Beach offers an abundance of terrific restaurants, bars and casual eateries, many of which boast magnificent ocean views. Shop in upscale stores or quaint little boutiques, relax in a sun chair on the beach, or go for a picnic in one of the 20 parks throughout the city Hermosa Beach has everything you could want in a beach city and more. With three large sports fields at Valley Park, Clark Stadium and South Park, sports enthusiasts and their kids will find plenty to occupy themselves with as well. To experience a plethora of cultural arts in one venue, check out the Hermosa Beach Community Theatre, a 502-seat theatre featuring musicals, film premieres, dance productions and a variety of other shows!
