GREATER VALLEY GLEN
A DIVERSE RIVER COMMUNITY
Welcome to Greater Valley Glen, Los Angeles.
Greater Valley Glen is a beautiful San Fernando Valley neighborhood, bordered by expansive parkland and bisected by the Los Angeles River. The area is home to around 60,000 people and is known for its simple vistas and well-kept lawns. In Greater Valley Glen, you get the perk of lots of green space in an unrushed and diverse environment, where the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. Step away from the chaos of LA's Downtown, and into the lush escape of this valley gem. Greater Valley Glen may be a modest neighborhood compared to areas like Hollywood and Silver Lake, but it still boasts a little bit of fame thanks to the half mile long Great Wall of Los Angeles, a California-history mural on the side of a flood-control channel. The beautiful mural is the pride and joy of the community, depicting California's history in a stunning, colorful artwork. The neighborhood of Greater Valley Glen is also home to the Los Angeles Valley College, a community college founded in 1949. The Greater Valley Glen Community Park offers a green respite, with amenities like an unlighted baseball diamond and picnic tables for relaxing days with friends and family. One of the most notable things about Greater Valley Glen is it's highly diverse population, so if you like a cultural mix, this is your spot. Nearly half of the residents in this neighborhood were born outside of the United States, so be prepared to learn a word or two in a foreign language!
