Welcome to Grant Park, Atlanta.
The Grant Park neighborhood is surrounded by 131 acres of green space, and the area offers plenty of recreation. This haven of sweeping land comprises mainly single-family homes, but also several schools, churches and some retail. Architecture here is beautiful with Victorian and Queen Anne style mansions, adorable cottages as well as Craftsman bungalows. It's notable that Grant Park boasts the largest collection of Victorian buildings in Atlanta, together with Inman Park. The mansions are often lined by neatly brick paved sidewalks and large trees, and the residents enjoy panoramic scenery thanks to Grant Park's unique landscape. Many city folks come here to escape the urban sprawl and bustle and revel in the quiet and green suburbia, while still having access to a satisfying number of recreation and entertainment options. This lovely neighborhood provides the best of worlds, with a number of restaurants and retail stores, art galleries and service centers, as well as parks and sports venues. Those who are interested in history should stop by the Atlanta Cyclorama in Grant Park, which features relevant Civil War treasures such as the Texas locomotive used in the Great Locomotive Chase by Confederates pursuing the Union raiders. The Atlanta Zoo is also located here, where visitors can enjoy a diverse collection of animals and plenty of activities, including interactive wildlife shows and a petting zoo. Little ones can have fun at the KidZone, help feed a giant panda or an elephant, or crack cases with the detective at the Zoo Clues!
