FENWAY - KENMORE
SCHOOLS AND CULTURE
Welcome to Fenway-Kenmore, Boston.
Most often, this neighborhood is referred to as The Fenway, Kenmore Square or just Kenmore, in casual conversation. The area is divided into two sub-neighborhoods, known as East Fenway-Symphony and West Fenway. The area is named after a main thoroughfare, the Fenway, which was laid out by Frederick Law Olmsted. Fenway-Kenmore is located by the borders of Longwood, Back Bay, South End and Charles River. The neighborhood is home to a plethora of landmarks, including the First Church of Christ, a major tourist attraction, a well as the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and parts of Boston University. The activity around Fenway-Kenmore is unceasing, and visitors will immediately notice how the area brims with a special kind of enthusiasm. It could be the many students that attend the neighborhood's prominent universities, or the artsy crowd who frequent the fine arts galleries that cause Fenway-Kenmore to draw you in with its intellectual and energetic ambience. Fenway-Kenmore is not all about studies and culture however, and the neighborhood offers plenty of fun around its many brownstone town-homes. Check out the many basement beer bars or dine in the fancy restaurants, or go for a hotdog and a ball game at the Fenway Park stadium. The area of Kenmore Square offers plenty of unique shops, local dining places, and is often filled with people from all over the city who wish to enjoy this particularly vivacious part of town!
