California, U.S.A.
Welcome to Encinitas, California.
Encinitas is located along the proud Pacific coastline in northern San Diego County, stretching across six long miles of shores. With approximately 60,000 residents, Encinitas is known for its spectacular beaches, rocky cliffs and flat-topped coastal areas; accented by steep mass bluffs and tumbling hills. The city was incorporated in 1986, when the communities of New Encinitas, Old Encinitas, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Olivenhein and Leucadia became one city. Encinitas is home to a thriving flower industry, which has earned it the nickname Flower Growing Capital. Those with green hands may want to pay a visit to the colorful oasis of San Diego Botanical Gardens, which features an amazon rainforest and the largest collection of bamboo in the world! Visitors that need a break from every day life can rest up in the gardens of the Self Realization center; an extraordinarily lush and peaceful respite with breathtaking views of the ocean. If you're into golf, check out the Encinitas Ranch Golf Course, which features 18 challenging holes in a beautiful course with panoramic views of the ocean. When in the mood for shopping and dining, take a stroll do Downtown 101, a 100-year old district featuring gorgeous historic architecture and lots of quaint shops and restaurants. Shop at the many unique stores and boutiques or have a coffee at one of the adorable sidewalk cafes, while enjoying the pretty surroundings and remarkable historic structures. Needless to say, the beaches in Encinitas are some of the best in Southern California, with unparalleled surfing-waves and quality sand. In addition, the San Elijo Lagoon Reserve comprises the largest coastal wetland in the county, and is the temporary home to over 300 different bird species throughout the year. If you don't mind awe-inspiring natural beauty, wonderfully quaint buildings and unbeatable weather, Encitas just may be your dream place to live.
