Georgia, U.S.A.
Welcome to Duluth, Georgia.
Duluth is located northeast of Atlanta and is the second largest city in Gwinnet County with around 27,000 residents. The city has grown quite a reputation in the later years with mentions like America's 26th Best Place to Move and Best Affordable Suburb in Georgia in Forbes and Business Week Magazine. Once upon a time in the 17th century, Duluth originated from an intersection at Old Peachtree Road called Howell's Crossing However, the little town was renamed in 1871 after a prominent French explorer by the name Daniel Greysolon, Sieur du Luth, who was famous for assisting in diplomatic relations between Canada and Mexico. The city today is a rapidly growing community, with plenty of new residential construction. Even still, Duluth has been able to retain its magical small-town atmosphere and appearance. Albeit small, this wonderful spot on the map offers an abundance of recreation, shopping and restaurants for residents and visitors alike. Widely recognized as a model city, the layout is exceptionally well planned with a fine blend of small businesses, larger enterprises and thriving visionaries. The commercial district is home to over 1,750 businesses, so its safe to say you'll find everything you need within the city's limits. Duluth boasts notable features like the Atlanta Ice Forum, where NHL's Atlanta Thrashers have their home. The city also houses the Gwinnett Center, a major facility with a huge convention center, performing arts center as well as a large indoor sports arena. Residents here can enjoy a variety of entertainment, including the Duluth Fall Festival in September. The festival, which attracts thousands of attendants, features a merry parade with more than 400 participants. The fun continues with a ceremony on the Festival Center stage, a 5K run and activities for the whole family throughout downtown Duluth. Green space is plentiful in Duluth, and those who enjoy golfing can practice their favorite leisure activity at the Sugarloaf Country Club. The club is a gated community featuring a total of three nine-hole courses, and will keep you occupied all day.
