DUBOCE TRIANGLE
A CITY CENTER WITHOUT THE CROWDS
Located just below the sloping hills of Buena Vista Park lies this tranquil little gem
with more to offer than one might think. Occasionally called Mint Hill after the United States Mint, the name Duboce Triangle derives from its shape, which is obvious for anyone who has seen it on a map. Tightly packed with Victorian houses, Duboce Triangle is known as a quite peaceful place. Opposed to many typical San Francisco streets, there are several here that have little to no incline, making it a favorite for bicyclists. Green space is plentiful in this neighborhood, with Duboce Park and several smaller parks providing ample public space, located close to ornate sidewalks and well-maintained Victorian flats and apartment buildings. While Duboce Triangle is not particularly famous for its nightlife, the neighborhood does offer several bars such as Noc Noc, Toranado and The Residence right by Market. In addition to a bustling social scene, there seems to be a coffee shop or Laundromat in every corner, and residents have both the luxury of a Safeway as well as plenty of smaller corner grocery stores right within its borders. Most businesses are gathered around Haight Street, where you'll find a Walgreens, a natural foods store, a meat and fish market, record stores, bars and smoke shops. For a night with pals, visit the Mad Dog in the Fog, a hub for soccer and rugby fans. Beer fanatics will most likely appreciate the Toronado, which is famous for its dozens of beer on tap. As for food, well you have a range here - Indian, Thai, Japanese, French, Mexican The list goes on to your heart's desire. Green space is plentiful in this neighborhood, with Duboce Park and several smaller parks providing ample recreation, located close to ornate sidewalks and well-maintained flats and apartment buildings. When you want to escape the life of suburbia and turn to the bigger city life, just take one of the multiple Muni lines for an easy transition downtown or elsewhere.
