DALY CITY
California, U.S.A.
A SMALLER OPTION TO SAN FRANCISCO
Welcome to Daly City, California. This is the largest city in San Mateo County with a population of around 106,000 people. The area was named after landowner John Daly, a businessman form Boston who is considered the founding father of Daly City. The city has a ton of attractions, much thanks to the vicinity to San Francisco. Because Daly City has way more free parking than its bigger neighbor, Bay area residents tend to come here for family and outdoor time while escaping the hassle of the large metro. One of the more popular venues in Daly City is the Cow Palace, where a plethora of events are held throughout the year. Attractions in the arena range from Rodeo to Christmas fairs, Cheerleading Championships, Motorcycle Shows and Dog Shows. In terms of shopping, you have both the Serra Monte and Westlake centers, and dining options are endless with a cultural mix of foods likes Italian, Greek, American and Asian. It doesn’t matter if you are a true gourmet or have a thing for fast food – you’ll find something to pleasure your taste buds in this charming city! If you prefer to cook your own dinner, get down to the weekly farmers market, where you’ll be able to buy fresh fruits, vegetables and perhaps a souvenir among the many regionally crafted products. Families with kids can have a fun outing at the Daly City Party Playhouse, a safe indoor place where children can climb, run and play until dawn.
