CITRUS HEIGHTS
California, U.S.A.
A YOUNG TOWN WITH HIGH ASPIRATIONS
Welcome to Citrus Heights, California.
This city in the Sacramento Metropolitan Area is home to around 85,000 people. Citrus Heights is a fairly young municipality as it was incorporated in 1997, and is centrally located between the region's major transportation lines. Residents can easily get to and from surrounding areas through the Interstate 80, Interstate 5, Highway 50 and the California State Route 99. For frequent travelers, the city has the convenience of Sacramento International Airport only 20 miles away, and those who prefer to travel by train have access to the Amtrak in nearby Roseville. The community is home to several public schools, which belong to the San Juan Unified School District. There are a total of ten elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. In terms of higher education, students can move on to University of California, California State University, Golden Gate University and several other prominent institutions. Citrus Heights may be a recent development, but it boasts a burgeoning retail and service industry. In the newly remodeled Sunrise Mall, you will find well over 100 stores including large chains and specialty stores like Macy's and Sears. The mall is located in the center of the city, located in the center of the Sunrise Market Place. Residents can choose between a wide array of shops and restaurants and a plethora of service businesses like Target and Best Buy, as well as Costco, Sam's Club and Wal-Mart. As far as green space, Citrus Heights is more than covered, with numerous parks and playgrounds. The Rusch Botanical Gardens cover 2 acres of public land, and features rose, herb, citrus and African plants. In addition an abundance of parks like the Almond Grove Park and Blue Oak Park, residents have access to two community centers. The Crosswoods Community Center and the Foothill Community both offers plenty of recreation like golf, swimming, baseball and even yoga and dance!
