Welcome to Castleberry Hill, Atlanta.
This unique urban community lies adjacent to Downtown Atlanta, and is recognized as a historic district. The area has been growing steadily since the new millennium, and the neighborhood has seen a large influx of new residents and businesses. Mainly the Walker, Nelson and Peters Streets make up Castleberry Hill, and you'll find a plethora of art galleries, restaurants, coffee shops and modern lofts around these blocks. Several prominent universities can also be reached within a few miles, like the Atlanta University Center and Georgia State University. If you are looking for first-class shopping, Castleberry Hill won't make you disappointed. The neighborhood offers plenty of local retail stores, boutiques and grocery stores, as well as spa services like Iwi Fresh. Restaurants to check out include the No Mas Cantina, a capacious Mexican restaurant and bar known for its homely furnishing style and yummy food. For drinks, locals flock to favorites like Elliot Street Pub and Bottle Rocket, and for more casual get-togethers, the Dream Caf is a popular spot. This so called Caf and Empowerment Lounge features coffee and healthy food, and guest can also enjoy speeches and musical performances, as well as private film screenings and acting workshops. Castleberry Hill has made itself a name thanks to the television series Walking Dead which has been filmed in the area; as well as the famous Castleberry Hill Art Stroll, which is held every month. It is also noteworthy that as a historic district, the neighborhood is the most complete warehouse district still surviving in Atlanta, where many of the old commercial structures having been converted to hip lofts perfect for the many artists that flock the area.
