The trail takes visitors through historic sites that played a part in the nation's founding. Bostonites enjoy a ton of greenery and water sites, and The Boston Common is the oldest park in the country, founded in 1634. The Revere Beach was America's first public beach. Boston also claims is the first American subway, the first Dunkin Donuts, as well as being the location for the nation's first Thanksgiving Day. Sports are a big deal in Boston. We're not talking general sports interest, but the kind of passion that runs in your veins since birth. So pick a team Boston Red Sox (baseball), Boston Celtics (basketball) and Boston Bruins (hockey) are a few of the teams that people here defend with their lives. Food lovers, take note that Boston has been recognized for being one of America's up and coming food cities. A famous poem from 1910 by Joan Cassidy begins: And this is the good old Boston, the home of the been and the cod. Non-natives often refer to Boston as the Bean Town thanks to its regional dish consisting of baked beans. Bean Town does not accurately describe the modern food scene however, and innovative chefs are putting Boston on the map of places for rich restaurant experiences.
