Welcome to A Mountaintop Country Retreat. Tucked away high up in the air above Downtown Pittsburgh is the mountaintop neighborhood of Bon Air.
This small, wooded, southern Pittsburgh neighborhood is strictly residential, and a truly tranquil hideaway from the city below. But as far away as it may seem, access to Downtown is easy thanks to the Bon Air T station (light rail stop), and regular bus service. Neat older character-filled homes line the sidewalked streets. They're primarily owner-occupied and filled with a diverse group of just under 1,000 residents. There's a small park where residents can enjoy sports like tennis and hockey. But considering how secluded the community is, enveloped by mountains and woods, living anywhere in Bon Air is almost like living inside of a park. In fact, the Bon Air Civic Association lovingly describes the Bon Air as a place to experience country living in the city.
