Welcome to Baker, Denver.
Baker is one of Denver's oldest neighborhoods and features an eclectic mix of Victorian homes, funky bungalows, remodeled duplexes and modern condos. The area is filled with a wonderful blend of people, ranging from of artists to business professionals, young families and hipster singles. Local landmarks include the Blue Bonnet restaurant and The Mayan Theatre, well worth a visit for great food and excellent entertainment respectively. Residents love it here for the many hot nightclubs, art galleries, quaint coffee shops and many local shops. Architecture includes hundreds of 19th century brick houses and a total of 39 buildings designed by the locally renowned architect William Lang. Most of the neighborhood was developed by 1900, and in the 1970's the area was named after Baker Junior High School; now Denver Center for International Studies. The community of Baker is a cosmopolitan haven, with classic urban characteristics like a diverse population, fine dining, plenty of entertainment and convenient access to mass transit. It doesn't hurt that the neighborhood is situated smack in the middle of the city either! If you are looking to live in a vibrant, multi-cultural neighborhood in the heart of Denver, Baker just may be your ideal spot.
