Welcome to Atwater Village, Los Angeles.
Atwater Village is a diverse neighborhood in Los Angeles, situated mainly in he fertile Los Angeles River flood plain in the northeast region of the city. The areas of Griffith Park, Silver Lake, Glendale and Glassell Park surround Atwater Village. If you enjoy interacting with an array of different cultures, Atwater Village is for you nearly half of the residents were born abroad. Atwater Village has recently gained a reputation as the next hot neighborhood in Los Angeles, stealing attention from the hipster area of Silver Lake. Atwater Village is surprisingly quiet and down to earth, even though Details magazine named it as not just one of the best emerging neighborhoods in the city but on the planet! If you like to walk Atwater is definitely for you. Situated between the two main thoroughfares of Los Feliz and Glendale boulevards, the neighborhood features numerous pedestrian-friendly residential streets decorated by palm trees. This is a neighborhood that will allow you to experience the best of worlds all the perks of living in suburb, but with all the urban amenities and cultural allure of the city. If you're in the neighborhood, there are a few spots that locals swear by. One of them is Canele where people stand in line for the city's best brunch, and another is the burrito joint at Tacos Villa Corona. Stop by for a coffee and a cinnamon roll at the quaint little bakery Proof, and don't forget to try their unparalleled croissants! For a fun night out, grab your friends and head to the old Disney hangout Tam O'Shanter Inn, as well as the famous dive bar The Roost. If you love beer, the place to go is the Eagle Rock Brewery, which offers about a dozen beers. What's more, Atwater Village features everything you may look for in a hip neighborhood: eclectic boutiques, lots of dance and yoga studios, quaint bookstores and an amazing farmers market. It is no wonder that Curbed LA's reader chose Atwater Village as neighborhood of the year in 2012!
