AMERICAN CANYON
California, U.S.A.
A NEW NAPA TOWN
Welcome to American Canyon, California.
The city of around 20,000 people was formerly known as Napa Junction, as it is located in southern Napa County. American Canyon is a new city incorporated in 1992, and lies in amidst the gorgeous wine country of Napa Valley. The name American Canyon refers to the American Canyon Creek, a tributary of the Napa River, which runs through the city. The pastoral escape of American Canyon encompasses merely four square miles, but the city is so attractive and affordable that the population has grown beyond rapidly. In 2006, the city's business growth was at its peak, as the commercial zones expanded with retail stores like Wal-Mart, Jamba Juice and Radio Shack. American Canyon also has a plethora of local purveyors like honey makers and olive importers, as well as flower and plant nurseries. The real estate market is flourishing here, alongside a blooming food scene with coffee shops and restaurants. Even though the downtown commercial district is still very small, several art and dining projects are currently under way. As a positive side effect of the small commercial scene, there is an abundance of parking. With three large airports within 50 miles and San Francisco just 38 miles away, the brand new community of American Canyon is definitely a place to look out for in the next ten years!
